Macedonia

Macedonia is a quiet and beautiful mountainous country interspersed with agricultural land in the heartland of the Balkans.

You will find the Balkan Chamois in a picturesque free-ranging hunting reserve just about an hour from the capital of Skopje. We hunt the Karadzica Mountains which are heavily covered with oaks and even though the terrain is very steep, the well graded trails make walking quite easy. Usually the hunting is conducted from the mountain summits from these trails, again accounting for a relatively easy hunt. The trophy quality in this area is high and the average trophy scores 100 CIC points. Good quality jeeps will take you nearly all the way to the top and multiple chamois can be taken if desired.

The rates are nearly all-inclusive from arrival in Skopje, Macedonia on a 4-day stay with 3 days of hunting. Alcoholic beverages and gratuities are not included. The best hunting time is from September 1 through November 20 with the rut taking place the end of October to the middle of November.

You will be accompanied by English speaking hunters who will attend to every detail. Accommodations are in a modern lodge with modern comforts and conveniences. Fine food is served and the wine from this area is superb.

For those wishing to collect mouflon and other animals, there is a 200 hectare fenced area about 100 km south of Skopje. Please inquire for more information.
