Moose
Kamchatka
Kamchatka! This remote part of Russia could be likened
to Alaska 30 years ago. Many areas of the Kamchatka Peninsula remain untouched,
as there is very little access to most of the entire region. Safari Outfitters
opened this part of the world to hunting in 1990 and we have continued
to offer the best hunting, in the best areas since then.
Moose populations vary from good to excellent, depending
on the region, but due to the fact that there is little to no hunting
pressure in nearly all areas, these bulls get big! Hunts are based from
tent camps, with all hunting on foot with the use of horses and/or tracked
vehicles to access the area. Bulls in this region are classified as the
Chukotka specie and carry antlers that are normally in the 58-62”
class. However some monsters up to 70+” have been taken.
Our own Clark Jeffs will be leading a group of moose
hunters to Kamchatka in September 2004 and you can contact him for complete
details.
